Expert Dermatologist Reveals Key Strategies for Autumn Skincare

A dermatologist has advised individuals to never use hot water for facial cleansing, highlighting specific methods for skin protection during the autumn season.

According to the Jadeh Makhsous news agency, Dr. Mehdi Ghahartars explained that skin dryness increases in the fall due to the rapid evaporation of water from the skin’s surface, which can lead to sensitivity, inflammation, and cracking.

He added that by following a few simple tips, many skin problems can be prevented, ensuring the skin remains healthy and soft throughout the season.

Dr. Ghahartars recommended using mild cleansers and moisturizers containing glycerin, applying oil-based protective creams, especially in cold and dry weather, and remembering to drink plenty of water.

According to Jadeh Makhsous, the dermatology specialist urged people not to use hot water for washing their face, suggesting that lukewarm water is preferable. Furthermore, applying a moisturizing cream after washing is essential to prevent skin dryness.

Dr. Ghahartars also listed other effective strategies for maintaining skin health, such as increasing environmental humidity with a humidifier or placing a bowl of water near heating devices, and maintaining a proper diet with fruits, fresh vegetables, and foods rich in Omega-3s like salmon, walnuts, and flaxseeds.

He emphasized that if severe skin dryness is accompanied by pain, bleeding, or disruption to sleep and daily activities, it is essential to consult a doctor.
