Early Detection and Specialized Care: Key to Combating Women’s Cancers

A gynecologist and oncology fellow emphasized the importance of early detection. Regular screening, vaccination, and visits to specialized centers play a significant role in preventing and treating women’s cancers effectively.

According to Jaddeh Makhsoos, Dr. Shima Alizadeh, a gynecologist and oncology fellow, explained that women’s cancers encompass a range of reproductive system malignancies. These include cancers of the uterus, ovaries, cervix, vagina, and vulva. Timely diagnosis and access to specialized care significantly improve treatment outcomes for these conditions.

Dr. Alizadeh highlighted cervical cancer as one of the most preventable malignancies. Regular Pap smears, HPV tests, and vaccination are crucial preventive actions. Ovarian cancer often presents with vague symptoms like pelvic pain, abdominal swelling, and menstrual changes. However, timely attention and follow-up can lead to earlier identification.

The gynecologist and oncology fellow further explained endometrial or uterine cancer. This is the most common female reproductive system cancer in post-menopausal women. Abnormal uterine bleeding serves as its primary warning sign.

Jaddeh Makhsoos reports that Dr. Alizadeh also discussed vulvar and vaginal cancers. While rarer, these specific women’s cancers necessitate specialized evaluation if women experience skin changes, chronic lesions, or pain and burning sensations. Regular gynecological examinations play a crucial role in their diagnosis.

She added that the Shahid Akbar Abadi Mother Support Educational and Treatment Center offers specialized and comprehensive services for women’s cancers. It features a team of highly specialized women’s oncology experts and advanced equipment. These services include early screening and diagnosis, such as colposcopy, Pap smears, HPV tests, and specialized ultrasound. The center also performs minimally invasive and advanced oncogynecological surgeries. Furthermore, it provides complete chemotherapy services, refers patients to equipped radiotherapy centers, and offers follow-up and supportive care to enhance patient quality of life.

The gynecologist emphasized that a multidisciplinary team at the center designs each patient’s treatment path. They base these plans on the latest scientific standards. This approach ensures the best treatment outcomes and the highest level of safety for every patient.

She finally emphasized that timely treatment, awareness, and regular visits form the three main pillars for successfully managing women’s cancers. Shahid Akbar Abadi Hospital advances women’s health with a scientific and humanistic approach.
